The adventure begins with a mid-morning pick-up by private luxury car with English-speaking driver at your accommodation and transfer to Monsummano Terme. Proceed to the historic Grotta Giusti Spa - favored by Garibaldi and Verdi. Upon arrival, you will be provided with a spa kit that includes a dressing gown, towel, slippers and swimming cap. You then proceed to the renowned Grotta - a natural limestone stalactite cave - absolutely fascinating and unique in Italy. You will slowly make your way down several meters under the earth’s surface into this natural, enormous (i.e., not claustrophobic) space. There you will be given a heavy, heated linen hooded cassock - to promote perspiration - and instructed to slowly and progressively make your way from Paradiso to Purgatorio to the Inferno. Each time you are descending deeper and the air temperature increases – due to natural exhalations of vapors. A huge natural sauna! As you emerge, you are wrapped in your heated robe and proceed to a hydro massage. Next is the outdoor thermal pool area with whirlpool massage. Your package includes a chaise longue for sun-bathing. Finish up with a relaxing 20-minute citrus massage. Additional treatments are available and can be arranged directly on the spot.
