You will be met at your Cernobbio accommodations by an expert, authorized local guide and a driver who will accompany you by de luxe private air-conditioned vehicle along the south-western shore of the lake past elegant villas and picture-perfect villages to the town of Tremezzo. Pause here to visit the splendid neo-classical Villa Carlotta. Certainly you will marvel at the superb art collection inside including many works by Canova - the world-famous Cupid and Psyche amongst them. Enjoy free time to wander through the extensive terraced gardens. The views across the lake to Bellagio are simply exceptional.
Board the public ferry at Tremezzo for the short crossing to Bellagio where you enjoy a brief promenade through the gardens of spectacular VIlla Melzi - where Fernec Liszt is reputed to have been so inspired by the monument to Dante and Beatrice that he composed a piano sonata on the spot. Afterwards, have free time to explore the village, delight in an al fresco lunch along the shores of the lake or hunt for bargains in the many charming shops.
Later, your guide will accompany you on the public boat service to Como and provide a fascinating commentary along the way as you pass the villas of famed luminaries like Gianni Versace and George Clooney and important scenic spots like Balbaniello where A Month by the Lake was shot.
Upon arrival in Como, you will be met by your driver and accompanied back to your hotel.
