A Delightful VIsit to Lugano and her Lake

You will be met directly at your lodgings by your authorized local guide and a driver who will then accompany you by de luxe private air-conditioned vehicle on the very scenic ride along the south-western side of Lake Como via Menaggio to Porlezza, the largest Italian town on the shores of Lake Lugano. This lake straddles the border and is shared by the two countries; cross the Italo/Swiss border at Gandria and proceed to Lugano. With the dramatic panorama of snow-capped Alps in the distance, a crystalline lake at her feet and a tropical micro-climate, Lugano would seemingly have it all! Factor in Swiss prosperity and a Mediterranean lifestyle and you will be convinced of it!
Explore the town center with your guide - visiting the beautiful little Romanesque Church of Santa Maria degli Angioli to view the frescoes of The Crucifixion by great Lombard artist, Bernardino Luini. Have time to sip a cappuccino in elegant Piazza Rezzonico or shop for a Rolex at world-famous Bucherer.
Proceed to the foot of Monte San Salvatore where you embark on a thrilling funicular ride. The birdsye view at 3000 feet encompases Melide, Monte Generoso and the little Italian enclave wholly within Swiss territory and famous for its gambling and casino' known as Campione d'Italia.
Return to your hotel by lunchtime.
